On this course you will learn how to build your own Themes using various WordPress frameworks. This course is designed to walk you through a series of hands-on, instructor-led exercises that exposes you to all the functionality and steps involved in building child themes or customizing a theme framework, so you can start developing your own sites immediately.

Day 1:
- Installing LAMP or MAMP, Build your own theme.
You will install a LAMP or MAMP on your laptop so that you can work locally. You will load the different framework Themes and learn how to customize your own theme using the functions and Hooks. Learn SEO optimization for your theme and site.
Day 2:
- Plug-ins, WordPress Loop, Advanced techniques, Custom Post Types.
Discover which plugins should be part of your Developer Toolbox. Learn & understand the WordPress Loop. Advanced Thesis techniques, tools and code.
Who should take this course:
- You have already taken the Beginner WordPress Course or are experienced with the concepts presented at that course.
- You wish to customize or build your own Theme.
- You want to expand your knowledge to include more advanced WordPress skills.
- You do not need to be an experienced programmer, but you should have taken the Beginner WordPress Course and have progressed in your WordPress knowledge since then.
You will need:
- An Intel Macintosh laptop computer with Snow Leopard installed. We can and will provide Laptops for those that require one at no charge.
- Xcode 4 and the iPhone SDK installed on your Macintosh laptop.
